Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands … took a towel and girded Himself. (John 13:3,4)
Daily reading: Proverbs 26
The One who is before all things, and in Him all things consist (Colossians 1:17) rose, not to be served, but to serve. Though all authority had been given into His hands, those same hands took up a towel and a basin. Jesus—who calmed storms, raised the dead, and spoke with divine authority—now knelt before His disciples to wash their feet. In the quietness of an upper room, away from the pressing crowds, the eternal Son displayed the heart of God through the humility of a servant. It was not just a lesson in love, but a revelation of divine character. Truly awesome.
