As Paul neared the end of his life, he reflected not with regret, but with confidence and anticipation. He had stayed faithful through struggle, hardship and sacrifice. He didn’t just start well—he finished the task God gave him. That’s what qualified him for what he called the crown of righteousness, (2 Timothy 4:8) a reward for those who live in loyalty to Christ and long for His return to establish His kingdom. This crown isn’t given for perfection, but for perseverance. It’s for those who refuse to drift, compromise or chase lesser goals. Many begin with enthusiasm, but some fall away when the cost gets high or distractions take hold. The righteous crown is reserved for those who endure to the end, keeping their eyes on what matters most. This reward isn’t just for Paul. It’s for all who hold firm to their calling, love the appearing of Christ and remain faithful until the day of their release—whether in death or His return.
