Daily reading: John 10:1-21

Exiled on Patmos, the Apostle John received a revelation of Jesus Christ. This unveiling, described by Paul as the revealing of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:7) and by Peter as the revealing of His glory (1 Peter 4:13), shows Jesus as the Alpha and Omega, who knows the end from the beginning (Revelation 22:13). In every event—whether nations rising and falling or our personal struggles—God’s eternal purposes transform tragedy into a meaningful tapestry only He fully understands. Jeremiah’s prophecy foretold the return of God’s people from exile (Jeremiah 3:18), a promise echoed by Daniel’s insight into redemption (Daniel 9:2). Though we face tribulation—sometimes self-made, sometimes sudden storms—Jesus, who overcame the world, will reveal all meaning in time. We will emerge from darkness into the full knowledge of God’s eternal purpose in Christ (Ephesians 3:11), confident in His sovereign plan (Ephesians 1:11).
