… but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
Daily reading: 2 Chronicles 34:8-33
Every believer needs a clear spiritual direction. Some Christians become stagnant or even drift backward, but God’s desire is progress, not retreat. Like an airplane with no reverse gear, our eyes and feet are designed for forward movement, we are made to go on with God. Paul’s focus was not on earthly success but on the eternal reward—being with Christ, becoming like Him and receiving the crown of righteousness (1 John 3:2; 2 Timothy 4:8). This isn’t wishful thinking; it’s a call to live with purpose now, shaped by the glory to come. So fix your eyes on Jesus, set your heart on heaven and press on in faith. The goal is sure, the prize is eternal and the journey is worth every step.
