For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. (1 Thessalonians 4:7)

Daily reading: Isaiah 61

Endurance shapes our usefulness to God. In Exodus the lampstand was crafted from one beaten piece of pure gold—slowly and skillfully formed by repeated blows. It was both beautiful and essential in God’s house, made after a divine pattern. Revelation shows these lampstands as pictures of churches, their lamps symbolizing sanctified believers. Each church and believer is a divine creation, designed to bear light. Romans 12:1–2 urges us not to conform to the world but be transformed by renewed minds, moulded by God’s Word. True holiness comes not from outward form but inward change. 1 Peter echoes this, calling believers to abandon old desires and pursue a holy lifestyle, shaped by God’s own holiness (1 Peter 1:14-16). Like gold, we’re refined by pressure and heat. Through trials, God crafts us into vessels fit for His purpose. If we allow His Word to shape us, we can shine clearly in a dark world—lights on stands, bearing witness and bringing glory to our Father in heaven.
