Let’s be clear – our text isn’t saying that Christ’s eternal Sonship was granted at His resurrection, but it was powerfully marked out and affirmed there. In contrast to ‘the flesh,’ which is marked by weakness, Christ was declared Son according to the Spirit of holiness. This highlights His divine nature—pure, eternal and powerful. Though He was crucified in weakness (2 Corinthians 13:4), He was raised in power, confirming His identity and authority. His holiness is not partial or developing; it’s equal to the holiness of the Father and the Spirit. The heavenly chorus cries, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty (Revelation 4:8). In Christ we see that holiness clothed in human form—and through Him, we are invited into God’s life. He is the Son—declared in power, risen in victory and reigning forever.
