Today’s text reminds us that grace isn’t only about personal salvation—it’s also about equipping us for service. This grace was tailored to Paul’s calling as an apostle. As Paul says elsewhere, But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift (Ephesians 4:7). Obedience to the gospel begins with faith, not works. Jesus said, This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent (John 6:29). Faith is the starting point and obedience flows from it. Paul’s mission was among the nations—not necessarily to convert every person, but to represent Christ everywhere he was sent. He did it all for His name’s sake—to lift up the name that reveals the matchless worth of Christ Himself. May all that you do today be likewise.
